Costa Rica- Virus! Conference! VBS!
A busy Sunday morning began with Angie taking 6-year-old Lucas to the ER with a respiratory virus while Pastor David took Noah into church for the worship service. Despite most of the lyrics being in Spanish (go figure!) the team enjoyed the passionate worship & welcoming smiles of the church members.
After church the ladies had lunch together then launched into a Women’s Conference focused on the cross led by Monica Pribe. Along with Aracelly, a member of LaViña, they shared scripture & powerful teaching with the women. Cassity & the rest of the team brought out the “diamond painting” crosses which were a big hit with the ladies. These women work many hours, many are single moms, & having a meal they didn’t cook & time to rest & visit is a great blessing for them!
(The men folk were out front painting & working on the church building while the women were meeting together.)
The next morning one of the teammates had a different virus & the team had to reassign people for VBS. With a VBS lesson using soccer to help kids understand the concepts of the Bible, Mr. Chad taught the Bible Story while the rest of the team led games, crafts, snacks & music. Tons of kids showed up for the first day with more expected tomorrow. Pray for kids & families to come & learn about Jesus & find a new church home in Anonos!
One of the original “dudes” from the founding of the church years ago, Tito has been playing drums & helping at LaViña for half his life! Currently a San Jose police officer, he’s on vacation this week & he’s been helping with construction & working games at VBS! His English is GREAT which makes him a perfect helper! Thanks Tito! We love you!
Pray against more sickness, pray for healing, pray for a successful VBS, pray for the work projects around the church & out in the community! Pray for team unity, friendship, & God’s power to be at work in this team! Enjoy our pics!
